The questions listed below show you some of what we take into consideration as we review grant applications. While this is not an exhaustive list, please take these questions into consideration as you prepare your application.

BELIEFS

Do you have to be a Christian to receive help from one of the Christian non-profits who receive grants?

No, you do not have to be a Christian to receive help from a Christian non-profit.  The Christian non-profits we support each have their own mission; mostly they are either doing the work to support people in need while applying biblical principles.  Some of them may have a mission to "introduce people" to learn more about Jesus, by inviting them to be a part of their congregation, participate in activities or events, although we all believe everyone has their own free will.

Is this a more judgmental or welcoming organization?

We seek to be a welcoming organization :).  At United Madison Christian Givers, we know Christians are sinners too.  We are far from perfect and while we may try to live our lives the way God wants us to, we can all fall short.  This is why we are grateful that Jesus sacrificed himself on our behalf.  We know it can be a bit scary for people who want to learn about God to step foot in a church.  We've all been in those situations and we try hard to SHOW the love of Jesus to everyone through our work and the work of the Christian non-profits we support, while realizing everyone has to go through their own faith journey.  Some people we help are non-believers, some are curious and some have grown up in the church but want to go deeper in their faith.

What are the beliefs of the leadership team for United Madison Christian Givers?

You can learn about our beliefs on the Faith Statement page under About Us above or click HERE.

DONATIONS & MEMBERSHIP

How much of my membership donation goes toward the grants?

100% of your membership donations go toward the grant recipients.

How do I know the organizations receiving grants are legitimate?

The Grant Committee at United Madison Christian Givers will carefully vet and review each grant applicant before it is sent out for a vote.  We want to ensure they are organizations who reflect the fruits of the spirit while adhering to biblical principles. We also assign a mentor to help them succeed.

Can I just make a donation without becoming a member?

Yes you can do this.  Even if you are not a member, you are still invited to our quarterly meetings to hear the inspirational work of the Christian non-profits.  You can decide to become a member at any point with a minimum donation of $50 per quarter.
