Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the mental health version of a basic first aid training. Participants learn to recognize and respond to the warning signs of mental and substance use disorders. They also learn to link people with appropriate treatment. MHFA increases the understanding that mental illnesses are real, common, and treatable.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church is teaming up with Anesis Therapy to provide free services and tackle the mental health stigma in the Black community. The free counseling kicked off on 10/6/20. These services will be offered each week on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The mission of NAMI Dane County is to provide education, support, and advocacy for people affected by mental illness in Dane County. NAMI programs should not be used to replace the specialized training and professional judgment of mental health professionals. They cannot, and do not, assume the role of a physician or therapist.
